After successful sojourns earlier this year to Midem
and Miami a trip to Popkomm had to be
on the cards. A great combination of business and music, set in
the cultural city of Cologne, Popkomm is the perfect place to secure
music industry deals and enjoy excellent music. A special thanks
has to go out to BPI, British Underground and all the people I met.
The purpose of this trip, as with all these trips was to find license
deals and/or sign up tracks. "Life is a Dream", our latest
trance track picked up interest from Greece, Spain, the German market
(as a mellower trancey track to the hard house scene) and was universally
enjoyed, as you'll see from the photos! But of course, there was
still time to check out the nightlife!
With more music coming from the Yellow Dragon "stable"
we will be looking to go up tempo with a harder house beat for the
Japanese and German markets while retaining the spiritually hypnotic
style that is becoming the Yellow Dragon trademark. Overall Popkomm
provided another piece of the puzzle to what is an industry in transition
but one we are looking forward to playing a major part of in the
future.
Next up the Amsterdam
Dance Event in October, so for any labels or licensees looking
for something unique look no further!
