Another MIDEM music conference beckoned for
Yellow Dragon to begin the year, with the single release
of
"River from the
Sky". The 37th MIDEM started
on the 18th and closed on the 23rd of January,
2003.
For 6
days,
4,006
companies
registered
from 92 countries to keep the international music business
flowing. Piracy was high on the agenda, not that Robbie Williams
seemed
too bothered! Although a short trip this year there was still
enough time to enjoy a warm Saturday, coverage of the
NRJ and the opportunity to catch up with some old and new
friends.
Our promo cd with 6 tracks went out to a varied mix of people
and it will be interesting to see the feedback in line with
the Buddha Bar release featuring "From Master Wong" Looking
for potential license deals was the main purpose of the trip
and it was good to see how things are changing and how what
we are doing fits in with new trends. Having gone to the
Britsh
at Midem debate about new talent manu pop.
