Jambala

Master Wong's last single was released in early 2000 under the name Yellow Dragon. It was well received by many areas of the music press, and was played on many radio stations, including by; Marcus Patrick on Surf FM, DJ Yanni on Sound FM, David Withers on Neptune, Chris Moore on Dragon FM, Simeon Pearl on Merlin FM, and KCBS Seattle.

Billboard's Music and Media reviewed the single thus;
"Mixing frantic housebeat with acoustic guitars and choruses of pure voices might seem odd, but Yellow Dragon's Jambala pulls it off. The mixture of two diametrically opposed styles actually works in the song's favour. A raw groove accentuates interweaving vocal harmonies, creating a track thats both thumping and wistful at the same time. The newly completed drum n bass mix strips away the thump in favour of delicate backbeats, voice anbd sweeping orchestral backing." - Music and Media Dance Grooves by Gary Smith.    HEAR IT! Rebirth Mantra  CDYD0001

September of 2000 saw the release of Master Wong's first album; 'Rebirth Mantra'.' Once again, the critics loved it, and songs from the album were heard on radio all over the world, as well as in some of London's top clubs. Obviously the right people heard the album, as Master Wong was commissioned to produce tracks for EMI's forthcoming 'Ambient Ibiza 3,' and Law and Auder's 'East Westercism' compilations.

"Played the album all night in the car and back at the flat...superb!" - KLF

"A Master in half of the arts of China, Simon Wong creates a collection way more ambient than Wu Tang although hypnotically cool... innovatively fuses east with West" - DJ magazine, Dec 2000

"Simon Wong is a magican!" - Musik magazine, Jan 2001

"Master Wong has concocted a mighty combination of contemporary dance music, and the spiritualism of authentic Buddhist Mantras. This collection offers some extremely refreshoing moments, and can be summarised by saying, its like drawing together the past, present and future- Timeless. My favourites are too many to mention, A worthy purchase." - Phil Earle/Law and Auder.
