Louie Vega also sat on the afternoon's Demolition panel which gave
producers the chance to have their creations rated by music industry
professionals. Apart from Louie, the panel featured Stuart MacMillan
and Orde Meikle of Soma
Records, well-known UK producer and DJ Justin
Robertson, Therapy
Records boss Bart Thimbles (thanks for the great CDs!), Niels
Traeden from Denmark's world famous Roskilde
Festival, and last but not least reknowned US producer John
"Jellybean" Benitez.
Master Wong's track "Life is
a Dream" was rated as a sure-fire commercial success by
the panel.
The most original artist of the week (apart from Master Wong of
course) was the exceptionally talented singer and lyricist "Unique
Monique" Lukens. With tracks such as "Lipstick Lesbian"
and "Cradle Robber" her humourous productions are deserving
of widespread acclaim. Give this girl a record deal!
We also connected with Sweden's top dance producers Reactive
Music.
In the afternoon our new found friend Rajae, aka Sufi, kindly took
us over to the venue "Amuse" to meet one of Holland's
finest promoters and DJs Paul Van Dijk, who was happy to get his
hands on some YDR vinyl.
Rajae herself is an amazing singer and musician, fusing her arabic
influences with many contemporary styles. Most definitely a name
to watch!
